Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2 Upgrade Training & R12.2 Consulting

Upgrade to R12.2.11

There are four ways TruTek can help with your R12.2.11 upgrade:

  • First, we teach a five day, hands-on technical upgrade class from R12.1.1 to R12.2.11.
  • Second, we can provide a 3 to 6 week consulting effort to conduct a First Pass Upgrade, to upgrade your data, with your staff, to identify your upgrade steps, document your upgrade and help you better plan your upgrade project.
  • Third, we can augment your staff with experienced functional and technical upgrade experts.
  • Fourth, we can help you reduce the time required for the R12.2.11 Upgrade. We are experts at performance tuning the upgrade and reducing downtime.

First Pass Upgrade vs Technical Upgrade Class

TruTek offers an R12.2.11 Technical Upgrade class that upgrades a Vision instance on Linux to R12.2.10 in one week. This is a hands-on class for DBAs. It is recommended that class attendees take the R12 Apps DBA class if they are not familiar with EBS upgrades and not experienced with the Oracle E-Business Suite

The upgrade class upgrades 12.1.1 to 12.2.11 The major steps are as follows:

Run the 12.2.0 Rapid Install to lay down the 12.2.0 upgrade file system

Apply CUPs and preinstall patches

Run the EBS Technology Code Checker

Apply the 12.2.0 upgrade driver

Configure the 12.2.0 instance with Rapid Install

Enable Online Patching

Apply AD-TXK RUP 10 patches

Apply the 12.2.11 patch

12.2.11 First Pass Upgrade (3-6 weeks)

However, while the 12.2.11 Technical Upgrade class gives your technical staff a comprehensive, hands-on opportunity to understand how to perform the upgrade, there's nothing quite like an upgrade of your data. The results of the upgrade can be shared with Functional Analysts and Developers to evaluate the new system and broken customizations.

We'll work against a clone of your database with your technical staff. We'll hit unique issues that can only happen with your data. We'll likely log a few Service Requests with Oracle, and you should not be surprised if you have follow on work that needs to be accomplished before you can launch a full-scale upgrade effort. We start with a template derived from training classes and other client upgrades, and document the process of your upgrade (upgrade path, required patches, etc.) in a spreadsheet of tasks, including both functional and technical steps.
